How employee investigations help to quell concerns in healthcare
For over a year concerns regarding treatment and care within nursing homes has taken the country by storm – and rightly so. The exposure of malpractice in nursing homes such as The Green Nursing Home in Kings Norton, and Elm View in Halifax, has only served to heighten such concerns. Consequently, the NHS and public healthcare has been put under intense scrutiny for its failings.
Of the issues presented, arguably the biggest has been that of neglect. However, there have been more malicious instances of serious misconduct within a nursing environment reported in recent history. Just last month, a man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of a 93 year old at Birdsgrove Nursing Home in Bracknell, according to the BBC.
They report that a 54 year old man is now in custody following the incident, with a 43 year old man and 19 year old woman previously arrested on suspicion of ill treatment or wilful neglect in the same case.
Sadly, such instances of neglect are becoming all too common despite mass exposure in the media and on the streets.
